As a Georgia wedding photographer, I get to capture so many beautiful celebrations. Maddie and DJ’s day was unforgettable.

Whether it was the love they poured out that seemed so genuine and real, or the fun details of their green wedding day inspiration that made it a beautiful day, I was honored to be there.

They started the morning at a lakefront Airbnb. The views were peaceful, with panoramic windows showing off the water. Inside, the energy was full of laughter and excitement.

Maddie was glowing—her bridesmaids told her all morning how beautiful she looked. And they were right. Her smile lit up every moment, and it never faded.

This wedding was anything but ordinary, it was unique, filled with the holy spirit, and so much good energy.

Pops of green added bold color throughout the décor. Fresh limes were tucked into centerpieces and table settings. Every detail felt vibrant and fun! The most meaningful touch? Maddie’s grandmother created all the florals by hand. That made the day even more sentimental. Bouquets and blooms were more than decorations—they were love in flower form.

The ceremony took place at Dry Creek Chapel in Alabama. Maddie and DJ chose to do a traditional first look at the altar. That moment was emotional and heartfelt. During the ceremony, their closest family and friends surrounded them in prayer. It was powerful, spiritual, and deeply moving. A moment no one will forget.

As the sun set, it was time to celebrate. The reception turned into a full-on glow party. Light-up tambourines and neon glow sticks filled the dance floor. Everyone danced the night away under the stars. Throughout the night, Maddie never stopped smiling. Her energy was infectious, and her joy made the whole day shine brighter.

All of the sweet details made for the most perfect kind of wedding day. Being a North Georgia Wedding Photographer means I get to witness the most stunning weddings in the prettiest places, and both of these locations combined were just that- STUNNING.

The Venue: Toccoa Falls and Kingwood Resort

Imagine a waterfall cascading down with so much grace, surrounded by lush greenery and the distant silhouette of gorgeous mountains. That’s Toccoa Falls, the breathtaking canvas for Bethany and Jake’s wedding day. The couple chose Kingwood Resort as their reception venue, a place that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of Toccoa Falls. The resort offered the perfect views of the mountains on a cozy fall day, creating the BEST kind of backdrop for their wedding photos!

The combination of Toccoa Falls and Kingwood Resort provided an abundance of photo opportunities. The waterfall served as a stunning backdrop for portraits, while the resort’s surroundings offered a mix of elegance and tranquility. Bethany and Jake opted for an intimate weekday wedding, a choice that added a touch of exclusivity to their celebration. The sun was shining, the air was cool, and the day unfolded with a grace that mirrored the natural beauty of the surroundings. 

The couple’s decision to have a destination wedding in the mountains on the east coast proved to be inspired. The mountain views created a picturesque backdrop, enhancing the overall charm of the celebration. The coziness of the fall day added warmth to the atmosphere, making it a day to remember.

Bethany and Jake were like the definition of love, fun, and adventure in every shot. You could practically feel their connection in every photograph. And can we talk about Jake’s emerald green suit? It totally screamed fall vibes, adding this awesome pop of color. Bethany’s dress, all flowy and whimsical, just blended perfectly with the whole natural beauty around them. It was like they were made for that setting.

Leading up to the ceremony, the weather forecast predicted rain and storms—but nature had other plans. As the day unfolded, the skies cleared, and the couple was gifted the prettiest golden hour over the vineyard. It felt nothing short of divine, with sunlight pouring through the vines, creating a cinematic glow that set the tone for the entire day.

A Moody, Romantic Ceremony in the Wine Cellar

Mary and Mike chose to say their vows in the cellar of Montaluce Winery, due to rain in the forecast. With just 8 guests present, the ceremony felt deeply personal and sacred. The soft candlelight and stone walls made everything feel timeless and intimate—exactly what they hoped for.

As a violinist played, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows and shared communion together—a powerful reflection of their shared faith and love for Jesus. It was a beautiful reminder that weddings can be both stylish and deeply spiritual.

Southern Traditions & Sentimental Touches

In true Southern fashion, the couple celebrated one of their favorite wedding traditions—burying the bourbon! A few weeks prior, they visited Montaluce to bury the bourbon, a southern ritual to keep the rain away. Clearly, it worked, even after a 80% chance of rain. The clouds parted just in time, offering the dreamiest weather a photographer (and a couple) could ask for.
